Meet Kodee
KL Carpentry & Construction is Kodee's business. He's a qualified carpenter and cabinet maker who also holds a full set of machinery and heavy vehicle licences, and he does the work himself.
Why one person with three skill sets matters
Most building jobs involve a handover between contractors: the excavator operator cuts the site, the carpenter frames, the cabinet maker fits out. Each handover is a chance for delays, misunderstandings and finger-pointing. Kodee can do all three, so fewer people are involved and one person is responsible for the result.
Licensing
Kodee holds a contractor licence issued by NSW Fair Trading and is currently working towards his builder's licence.
Some work must legally be done by licensed or registered people regardless of who you hire, including plumbing, drainage, roof plumbing and electrical work. In NSW, residential building work over $5,000 requires a contractor licence; in Victoria, most domestic building work over $10,000 requires a registered builder. We'll always tell you upfront how your job needs to be contracted.

Certificate III in Carpentry
Nationally recognised trade qualification covering framing, roofing, formwork, stairs, fit-out and finishing.
Certificate III in Cabinet Making
A second trade qualification: kitchens, vanities, built-in robes, joinery and custom furniture.
Excavator operator
Licensed to operate excavators for site cuts, trenching and footings.
Skid steer loader operator
Licensed for skid steer work: site clean-ups, levelling, material moving.
Dump truck operator
Licensed to move spoil and fill on site.
Loader operator
Licensed front-end loader operation.
Integrated tool carrier
Licensed for integrated tool carrier operation.
Heavy Rigid (HR) truck licence
Can drive heavy rigid vehicles to cart materials and plant.
Gas testing
Trained in atmospheric gas testing for confined and hazardous work areas.
